If you’re looking for a relaxing escape on the southeastern coast of Mallorca, Protur Alicia in Cala Bona is my top hotel recommendation! Located along a beautiful stretch of coastline, the hotel offers sleek, modern decor, unbeatable sea views, and a chilled atmosphere that makes for the perfect Mediterranean getaway.

The rooms at Protur Alicia are clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. Nearly all of them have stunning sea views, allowing you to wake up to the most amazing sunrises and the sound of the Mediterranean right from your balcony. If you prefer a view of the pool, there are options for that too, but if you’re a sea lover, I’d highly recommend the sea front rooms.
The rooms feature an open-plan design, where the sink is positioned within the bedroom and the toilet and shower are separate. We found this layout both modern and functional, but if privacy is a priority for you, it’s worth considering before booking.

When it comes to dining, the evening buffet offers a great variety of options. This includes a show-cooking station with grilled meats and fish, a well-stocked salad bar, cold meats, cheeses, and daily changing hot dishes, in addition to a great selection of desserts. There are many daily options for vegetarians too included in this. Breakfast is especially impressive, offering everything from full continental spreads to a proper English breakfast. If you like made-to-order omelettes, don’t miss them - they were a highlight for us! For something a bit fancier in the evening, the à la carte restaurant is a lovely option. Each guest gets one complimentary dinner here per stay, which makes for a nice evening out without leaving the hotel.
Where Protur Alicia really shines is their pool scene. The rooftop infinity pool is amazing. The views from up there are stunning, giving you panoramic scenes of the coastline while you float around or lounge on the deck. Down at the main pool, there’s plenty of space to swim and relax, plus a jacuzzi area for those moments when you just want to sit back and enjoy the bubbles.

Entertainment at the hotel is fun and varied, with something for everyone. A highlight for us was the Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson tribute acts, who were spot on and really good! During the day, there are plenty of activities held around the pool, while the evenings offer a mix of shows, live music, and even bingo. If hotel entertainment isn’t your thing, there’s plenty to explore in Cala Bona and nearby Cala Millor, where you’ll find a great selection of bars and restaurants or have a stroll along the promenade.
Another huge perk of staying at Protur Alicia is ProturCars, the hotel’s own car rental service. It’s hassle-free, with no deposit required, and reasonably priced, making it a great option for exploring beyond the local area. Having a car allowed us to visit some stunning coastal destinations that would have been tricky to reach by bus. We managed to explore Cala D’Or, Portocolom, Cala Romántica, and Alcúdia, all of which were well worth the drive. The hotel also offers free underground parking, which made things even easier.

Overall, Protur Alicia in Cala Bona strikes the perfect balance between relaxation, scenic beauty, and a touch of luxury. The location is perfect, peaceful and laid-back in some areas, yet close enough to shops, restaurants, and bars for when you want a bit more buzz. Plus, transport links to neighbouring towns and villages are easy to navigate, making it simple to get out and explore. If you’re looking for a stylish and stress-free getaway on Mallorca’s southeastern coast, this hotel is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!
