Top 10 Must Visit London Tourist Attractions
If you’re planning a trip to London and looking to visit some of the most famous tourist attractions, this guide will help you to plan and make the most of your time there. Whether it’s your first time visiting or you have been many times before, you will never run short of things to do in London. Here are the Top 10 tourist attractions that you should add to your London itinerary.
Tower of London
Starting with one of London’s most visited attractions, the Tower of London is a must visit, especially for history lovers. The nearly 1000 year old fortress overlooks the Thames and contrasts sharply with the modern skyscrapers nearby.
Make sure to see the Royal Crown Jewels, including the Crown and Orb, which play a central role in royal ceremonies. Explore Mint Street, where English coins were once produced and spot the legendary Ravens, kept to protect the kingdom, as legend says.
You can also join a Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) tour to hear some royal tales.
Tickets: From £35.80 per adult. Discounts for children, seniors & families.

2. Tower Bridge – Take the Tour
One of my favourite attractions to visit in London is Tower Bridge. Often confused for “London Bridge” this tourist spot is just next to the Tower of London. Of course, you can admire the amazing views of Tower Bridge but taking the Tower Bridge tour is an experience worth every penny.
You’ll walk along the high-level, glass floored walkway and see the traffic and river beneath your feet. Visitors also get an insider look at the Victorian engine rooms that once powered the bridge. For a dash of history paired with incredible sights, this is a must do in my opinion!
Tickets: From £13.40 per adult. Discounts for children, seniors & students.

3. The Shard
Visit the UK’s tallest building, The Shard, for incredible 360 degree views over the city from 800 feet up. My favourite time to visit “View from the Shard” is at sunset, for the most incredible views and photos. As well as the viewing gallery, The Shard is home to Shangri-La hotel and many incredible bars and restaurants.
Tickets for View from The Shard: From £32 per adult.

4. Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament
A trip to London wouldn’t be complete without a glimpse of Big Ben, arguably the most iconic clock in the world which sits next to the Houses of Parliament. While you can book tours inside Parliament, just seeing the buildings from the outside, especially when lit up at night, are stunning. For a good photo of Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament, head to the other side of the river and head down the steps.

5. Westminster Abbey
With over 1,000 years of history, Westminster Abbey is one of London’s most famous landmarks and a must-visit for history and architecture lovers. This stunning Gothic church has been the site of royal coronations since 1066 and is also the final resting place of many British monarchs, poets, and historical figures.
Step inside to admire the breathtaking architecture, intricate stained glass windows, and Poets’ Corner, where literary legends like William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens are commemorated. You’ll also find the Coronation Chair, used in every British coronation for centuries.
Tickets: £29 per adult. Discounts available for children, seniors & students.
Tip: Arrive early to beat the crowds or attend a free Evensong service for a unique experience!

6. Buckingham Palace – Changing of the Guard
If you’re interested in the British Royal Family or want to experience some British tradition, make sure to stop by Buckingham Palace, the King’s official residence.
I recommend visiting at least once during the Changing of the Guard Ceremony. The ceremony takes place at 11am on most days but you’ll need to check the online schedule in advance. It is free to watch but arrive there early for a good spot as it usually gets very busy.
7. Battersea Power Station
A fantastic place to spend the day in London, Battersea Power station was originally a coal powered energy plant that is now home to an abundance of leisure activities. Explore inside and around the power station for chic shops, amazing restaurants, bars and even a cinema! For unbeatable views, head up “Lift 109”, a glass elevator to the top of one of the Chimneys. The Power Station hosts seasonal light shows and art installations, as well as an ice-skating rink and fairground rides at Christmas time. If you’re visiting from Central London, the Uber Boat or the tube are easy ways of getting there.

8. Sky Garden
The best viewpoint in London, in my opinion, has to be Sky Garden. What makes it even better is that access is free! Located at the top 20 Fenchurch Street (aka The Walkie Talkie), this place offers the best panoramic views of iconic London landmarks like the Tower of London, The Shard and St. Pauls Cathedral. To avoid waiting in long queues for a ticket on the day, secure a ticket online which are released 3 weeks in advance.
Enjoy drinks at the Sky Pod Bar or book a table at Darwin’s Brasserie or the Fenchurch Restaurant for a special foodie experience.

Vibrant and full of character, Covent Garden is a must-visit for anyone looking to soak up the quintessential London atmosphere. Here you will find street performers, entertaining crowds in the historic Piazza, as well as boutique shops, artisan markets, and cozy cafés which make it the perfect place to wander. Whether you’re browsing luxury brands, catching a show at the Royal Opera House, or grabbing a drink at one of the lively pubs, there’s always something happening in Covent Garden.
10. London Eye
This giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the Thames takes you 135 meters up into the sky on a gentle 30-minute rotation, giving you a bird’s-eye view of landmarks like Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and The Shard. Whether you visit during the day or at night when the city lights up, the views are always stunning. For a special experiences, you can even book a Champagne or Private Pod!
